Our online collection has received $6,946.25!  Our total collection for 2015 is $12,464.85.

The Bus Queensland depots at Redbank, Toowoomba/Lockyer Valley and Park Ridge did collections on school and urban runs as well as holding BBQ’s and raffles to raise funds.  Westside Bus Company at Redbank were the winners of the 2015 collection challenge.

The 2015 event was held on Saturday, 19th September 2015 at the Queensland Maritime Museum.  Bus Queensland took part in the fund raising and festivities.  The Pirates (Park Ridge Pirates AFL Club) bus was a great success with the kids.

Talk Like A Pirate Day

In September 2012, Bus Queensland embraced ‘Talk Like a Pirate Day’ in aid of families who have children with cancer. Some 180 Bus Queensland bus drivers from our Ipswich and Park Ridge depots dressed up and talked like Pirates to help raise money and awareness for the Childhood Cancer Support Service.

All participating buses on the day had a treasure chest installed to enable passengers to make a contribution to the cause. Funds raised for the Childhood Cancer Support Service were used to reduce the impact that childhood cancer has on families by providing specialised accommodation and family support programs.
